Rangers defender Cuellar slams Spain snub

Cuellar's outstanding first season at Ibrox has seen him named Clydesdale Bank Player of the Year and tipped for a call-up to the national squad.

Although Rangers stand on the verge of an historic quadruple, Spanish boss Luis Aragones has refused to recognise the influence of the former Osasuna centre-back.

"As a Spanish player in Scotland, I don't think the doors to the Spain national side are entirely closed, but it is far more difficult to get in," explained Cuellar.

"Even though I've been named the best player in Scotland, nobody from the FA has given me a call."
