Rangers centre-back Carlos Bocanegra admits he is pondering a move back to Major League Soccer.

The 33-year old USA captain, who is attracting New England Revolution interest, is currently unsure of his playing future as crisis-stricken Rangers get set for life in Scotland’s lower leagues after falling into liquidation and could be on his way back to North America.

Bocanegra, who began his career with Chicago Fire in 2000, has revealed that he would again like to play MLS with a move a possibility this summer.

“I’d 100 per cent consider playing in the MLS again,” he said.

“I started here and I know the league well. I know it’s a demanding league, a physical league.

“I don’t want to elaborate on a possible timetable for a move but I would never rule it out.”

Since leaving the Fire in 2004, Bocanegra has played for Fulham as well as French clubs Rennes and Saint-Etienne prior to his 2011 shift to Rangers.
