Rangers continue to pile pressure on Celtic

Rangers are continuing to follow the trend made by title rivals Celtic, getting the results they need to remain in the hunt to take top spot. 'Gers did enough to beat Aberdeen 1-0 at Pittodrie Stadium last night to cut Celtic's lead to two points, following up their win of the same scoreline at Hamilton on Sunday.

Nikica Jelavic was once he again the hero, as he has been in recent times, scoring the solitary goal in the 22nd minute with a superb overhead kick.

Kyle Lafferty played the ball into the path of Jelavic and the Croatian reacted in spectacular fashion to send his acrobatic shot past Dons keeper Jamie Langfield.

The Scottish Premier League title race is now beginning to really heat up with just four games remaining. Rangers next take on St Mirren at Ibrox this Saturday whilst Celtic take on Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden Park on Sunday.

The Hoops' next league match is at Kilmarnock next Wednesday, a day after 'Gers are away at Dundee United.
