Smith admits Rangers are still scouring the transfer market in search of a new midfielder.

"We have been looking since the end of the season for a player to add to our midfield," Smith told Sky Sports News. "With Steve Davis going back to Fulham and Amdy Faye going back to Charlton we were always a little bit light in midfield areas of the pitch.

"We continue to have a look and see if we can add to that, but we have a fair number of players in our squad and we obviously feel we can cover for that aspect at the present moment."
