Sasa Papac's Rangers career appears to be over after he revealed he requires surgery on his groin.
The 32-year old Bosnian full-back will not be available for any of the remaining matches this season and is unlikely to be signing a new deal at Ibrox with the club still in an uncertain state from financial and administration viewpoints suggesting his time in Glasgow could be up.
"The club doctor has recommended it but I'm trying to see if there is any way I can keep going without having it."
He added: "My team is in its greatest crisis in its history.
"Every day some new piece of bad news comes out that puts a strain on everyone at the club. As a player and as a fan of Rangers I hope this crisis is overcome soon.
"I have a contract until 31st May. It has been a difficult season and I will go home to Bosnia and decide my future this summer.""I need an operation," he told the Daily Record.
