Rangers boss Walter Smith was delighted with his capture of Fulham midfielder Steve Davis.
"Kevin Thomson is out for a month and we have a lot of midweek games coming up which is difficult for the middle to front players.
"Steve is a creative player. He likes to get involved in play and is not as defensive as some of the others we have.
"He has played a lot of games for such a young player. He is an up-and-down-the-pitch midfielder. He's not one who likes to sit behind another player - he likes to attack.
"I've seen him a number of times for Northern Ireland and he's been good."
