Ally McCoist has heaped praise on the Rangers supporters who helped the club raise a total of £22million.
'Gers fans have dug deep to raise £5m to add to the £17m already put in by investors and McCoist was very complimentary of the effort produced by the Ibrox faithful as the club looks to get themselves back to former glories.
"It was a great day off the park and for the fans to chip in around £5million is absolutely staggering," said McCoist following Rangers' 3-0 Third Division win over Annan Athletic on Tuesday night.
"They have only had the opportunity to do that in the last week or so.
"And to do it in the week up to Christmas where finances are tight, and with the recession, is another incredible show of support for this football club.
"I love the fact they keep surprising me. It is amazing. To get 42,000 on a Tuesday night against Annan is unbelievable.
"The one thing the investors and the fans deserve is for their money to be used wisely. I would certainly hope to have the opportunity to use the money wisely."
