Rangers boss McCoist: Templeton can be next Laudrup or Gazza!

Ally McCoist suggests that David Templeton can be a Rangers dazzler much like past superstars Brian Laudrup, Paul Gascoigne or Davie Cooper.

The 23-year old winger set up Lee Wallace's opener before scoring a stunning second goal as 'Gers beat Clyde 3-0 in the Third Division on Wednesday and his manager feels he has the right style of game to become an Ibrox legend.

"Templeton makes things happen. He'll give the ball away as well but you have to accept that when players have great talent because they try things which won't always come off," said McCoist.

"When they do, they're certainly worth waiting for. His pass for the Wallace goal was exceptional. You'll struggle to see a better goal all day than the second one.

"It was a magical goal on his right foot, a wonderful finish. You can see the relationship he's forming with the support, which will be very important to him.

"The supporters have always had someone like that, whether it be a Davie Cooper, a Brian Laudrup, a Paul Gascoigne or whoever.

"They always had someone who was a bit special to them. I think Temps has got the potential to be that kind of person."
