Brighton defender Connor Goldson is close to joining Rangers.

The Argus claims negotiations over the talented centre-back have progressed considerably, with only the final details left to iron out.

It is believed the deal will cost in excess of £3.5 million.

Goldson will be new manager Steven Gerrard's fourth signing for the Gers as he looks to close the gap on Celtic.

The 21-year-old, highly rated by the Seagulls, is desperate for first-team football after finding himself behind Lewis Dunk and Shane Duffy last season.
