Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is chasing a deal for Brighton defender Conor Goldson.
The Daily Mail says Rangers are ready to make a renewed push to sign Goldson early this week.
A £1.5million bid was knocked back last week but is likely to be increased to upwards of £2m in an attempt to persuade Brighton to sell.
Goldson is wanted by Steven Gerrard as one of at least two centre-half targets identified to help rebuild Rangers from the back.
And Goldson's status as a lifelong Liverpool supporter and Gerrard fan is believed to be a key factor in favour of the buying club.
