‘Gers’ pre-season kicked off with a 1-0 defeat at the hands of German outfit Sportfreunde Lotte, who play in the regional fourth tier of the Bundesliga.

Rangers will now travel to second division side VfL Bochum for another pre-season friendly tomorrow.

Two other SPL clubs were in action yesterday with St Johnstone held to a 1-1 draw by Irish club Drogheda United whilst Kilmarnock and Northern Irish outfit Ballymena played out a scorelses draw.
