Rangers and Celtic to take Old Firm rivalry to Boston

One of the biggest rivalries in world football could be making its way to Boston.

Scotland's Old Firm rivalry between Celtic and Rangers may very well be played outside of the country for the first time ever with discussions for a match in the USA underway.

Sportsmail reports that both clubs are considering a lucrative offer to meet in Boston in July but nothing has been set in concrete just yet.

The fact that Celtic will be in North America in July to face Manchester United in Toronto and Rangers are considering games in New York and Miami indicates that the potential for this clash to actually get off the ground is enormous.

A mooted venue for the proposed match is the Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts - the ground where Celtic took on New England Revolution back in 2006.
