Nile Ranger isn't giving up on his Newcastle United career.
The striker spent last season on-loan at Sheffield Wednesday, where he helped them win promotion to the Championship.
The Evening Chronicle says so far there has been no bid from Wednesday for his services but Ranger was back at Newcastle's Benton base yesterday for blood tests and a pre-season fitness assessment.
With Leon Best sold to Blackburn and Peter Lovenkrands freed earlier in the summer, United are limited when it comes to striker cover.
