Rangel: I had rival Premier League interest before penning Swansea deal

Angel Rangel was happy to sign a new contract with Premier League new-boys Swansea City.

The Spanish defender inked terms earlier this summer.

Rangel told Absolute Radio: "Well I think it was the status I had in Swansea first of all, playing well as a right-back, week in, week out, and then the confidence with the manager as well.

"I had all that interest from other clubs in the Prem, but to be fair I enjoy my life in Swansea as well, and if you enjoy your football and your life I think it's the main thing. I didn't really want to leave for more money, just to start again at another club."

This Saturday Absolute Radio extra's Rock 'N' Roll Football travels to The Liberty Stadium for their feature game Swansea v Sunderland. You can tune in every Saturday on Absolute Radio extra - on DAB Digital Radio, 1215AM and online in the UK. Tune in for the full Angel Rangel interview from 1.30pm.
