Randolph eager to give West Ham best after Euro2016 experience

Darren Randolph is desperate to produce his absolute for West Ham United in the Europa League.

The Republic of Ireland international has taken the gloves from Hammers number one Adrian for Thursday night's Europa League play-off first leg against Astra Giurgiu in Romania.

Randolph, 29, has been told by manager Slaven Bilic that he will be the East London club's first choice for their European campaign and the goalkeeper is eager to perform to his full potential in a bid to help the Hammers make the group stage proper of UEFA's second tier club competition.

Back in club action after an impressive showing at Euro2016 with Ireland, Randolph said: "It didn't feel like I had a break which is good in a way because I am full of confidence and enjoying my football.

"I am really enjoying being part of everything that is happening at West Ham.

"It was one of the best experiences of my career during the summer and I have enjoyed the last year-and-a-half. I just want it to continue for as long as possible.

"Playing at the Euros against those teams and players can only help you when you perform at that level and give you confidence.

"I had a good cup run last season and I ended up playing a number of games. If that happens again this season it is down to me to perform whenever I get the chance to play.

"If we can get into the group stages it will be good for me and the rest of the players who have worked just as hard. It is a great experience for us to play in different countries and sample different atmospheres. It will only benefit the team."
