Juande Ramos insists he wants to keep Dimitar Berbatov at Tottenham.
The Spaniard, who faces his first Premier League match as boss at Middlesbrough today, did not shake hands with Berbatov when he was substituted during Wednesday's 2-0 Carling Cup victory over Blackpool.
"I've seen him quite happy in training and quite committed.
"But what is also true is that I've only been here a few days.
"I don't know if his mood is the normal one or if he's better or worse than before. As days and weeks go by I will evaluate if he's happy or not."
But Berbatov's agent Emil Dantchev is preparing for a potentially-explosive meeting with Tottenham's top brass - possibly as early as tomorrow.
Dantchev said: "I'm in London to speak with Dimitar and Tottenham about his situation.
"Dimitar wants to concentrate on the game against Middlesbrough - and then we want a meeting with Tottenham.
"It could be on Sunday or on Monday and the discussion will be about plans for the future."
