Juande Ramos stands by his transfer decisions at Real Madrid last January.
Ramos wanted to sign Manchester United winger Antonio Valencia, while the Ecuador star was still with Wigan Athletic. However, instead Julien Faubert arrived on-loan from West Ham United.
He said: "I never wanted Faubert. I asked for Valencia, who is now succeeding in Manchester.
"I insist that I recommended Valencia, but he was very expensive and we were offered Faubert .. who only came as a substitute for Arjen Robben in case of injuries."
