Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos insists Gareth Bale would have no problem settling in Spain.

The Tottenham star has been warned he'd find life hard in Madrid.

But Ramos insists: "Other British players have settled well and enjoyed playing at Real Madrid in recent years.

"If Beckham or Michael Owen have made good careers, then why can't Bale triumph and succeed?

"Bale is an excellent footballer. I have viewed many Tottenham matches in the past season and he was excellent on the pitch.

"A player with his characteristics would be great for our squad. I always prefer to play with the biggest players, rather than as rivals."
