Ivan Rakitic says joining Barcelona is lifelong ambition fulfilled.
The Croatia midfielder made his debut for Barca in their 3-0 win over Elche.
"When I was a kid I set myself the objective of playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world and I'm delighted it's Barça, the biggest club in the world in my opinion," Rakitic said.
"Now I'm expected to perform well and fight for the team. I'm hungry for success. With total respect for the Europa League, my priority is now to win the Spanish league and the Champions League."
On playing with Xavi, Rakitic added: "I'm not exaggerating by saying that I can learn from him alone. There's no need to say what a great link-up player he is. He's a great captain and leader."
