Rafael-Luiz Incident won't change the fact we won - Chelsea's Benitez

Chelsea interim manager Rafael Benitez admits he is unsure regarding the incident that saw Rafael sent off in today's 1-0 win over Manchester United.

The Blues edged the champions at Old Trafford thanks to a late goal supplied by Juan Mata whose 87th minute effort deflected off Phil Jones but there was controversy not long after when Brazilian defender Rafael saw red for a tackle on countryman David Luiz who appeared to be smiling as he went down and then lay on the ground.

Benitez has not yet seen footage of the incident but says his sides quest to finish in the top three would not be hampered by one occurrence as they look for another lot of three points in their next outing.

"I didn't see the incident or replays," Benitez told Sky Sports. "I try to enjoy when we win, it's a situation you can see 20 times on TV, but it won't change anything.

"For us very game is massive now. This one obviously against the champions was tough, but we did really well.

"We have to beat Tottenham next, which will not be easy on Wednesday and we still have Aston Villa and Everton, so we must carry on, concentrate on the next game.

"Today was a difficult game in terms of the intensity and the tempo. You can see that we didn't have the tempo and they didn't have the tempo, but I think that we were in control."
