Hull City boss Steve Bruce says Stephen Quinn is close to penning new terms.
Bruce says negotiations over an extended deal have been positive and he hopes Quinn can be tied down over the next seven days.
"Stephen Quinn's agent was talking to the powers that be probably about a week ago and I hope that by this time next week we can announce that he has signed his new deal," said Bruce.
"He's the first one of a few who have been with me who need rewarding."
