Queensland's Miller: Salley has to play in Grand Final

Queensland Roar midfielder Charlie Miller believes Adelaide United has to play Jonas Salley in this weekend's Grand Final. The Scot said Salley was a tough opponent in the preliminary final on Saturday night which the Reds won 1-0 and if they were to have any chance of knocking off Melbourne Victory to take the title, the Ivorian-born midfielder has to play.

"It's going to be difficult for them but if they score first and they keep Jonas Salley in the team they've got a chance," Miller said.

"He's a difficult player to play, very difficult.

"He's a rash as we say in Scotland, he's just there all the time and he played very well with Paul Reid in the middle."

Adelaide coach Aurelio Vidmar was also full of praise for Salley, despite giving him limited opportunities this season.

"We changed our formation at the beginning of the year and Jonas went out but certainly we knew that area especially over the last couple of weeks had caused some concerns for us, so he came in and did a fantastic job," Vidmar said.
