Queensland's McKay to play semi-final with broken nose

Queensland Roar midfielder Matt McKay will endure the pain of a broken nose in Friday night's return leg of the A-League semi-final. McKay sustained the injury in a collision with Paul O'Grady in the Roar's 2-0 win over Central Coast Mariners on Friday night but is determined to play at Suncorp Stadium this Friday night.

"There is no doubt at all that I'll be playing on Friday night," he said.

"I've never done it before so I don't know what to expect if it gets another hit but I should be fine.

"I'm not scared. I've gone through my whole career without getting hit on the nose," he added.

"These things happen.

"I'll be focused totally on what I have to do on the field and the thought of hurting myself again won't even enter my mind."
