Queensland Roar's Moore puts hand up for Australia

"If Pim Verbeek needs me, I'll be ready to put on my jersey." That's the promise the veteran Queensland Roar player has made to the newly-appointed national coach.

Moore, 32, has already discussed with Verbeek about his commitment to the national team.

The ex-Newcastle United defender will be ready for selection in Australia's upcoming World Cup qualifying campaign. His announcement puts an end to speculation that he is thinking about retiring from international football.

"I spoke with Pim before the Melbourne game to say that if I was needed (I'll play)," he said.

Moore has previously captained Australia and has earned 38 national caps. e believes his wealth of international experience at the top level will add much needed quality to the squad.
