Queensland Roar want salary cap for National Youth comp

Queensland Roar coach Frank Farina has called for a salary cap for the National Youth League. He told the Courier Mail: "I want the FFA to introduce a rule that limits the money a youth team player can earn in his first two A-League seasons.

"Irrespective of whether the player stays where he is, or goes somewhere else, a common fee is what they would earn - no more or no less.

"That way the player would have to ask himself - provided his current club still wanted him - why he would move from where he was, most probably his home town, when he can only earn the same amount somewhere else.

"The Roar will submit a detailed proposal to the FFA and I'm confident the people in charge of football in this country will listen."
