Queensland Roar will be firmly entrenched in the top four if they can hold bottom-placed Newcastle Jets at home on Sunday.

The Roar currently sit in fourth position and a win would see them pull away if Sydney FC can take care of the Mariners the night before.

Coach Frank Farina says it is vital for the Roar to give something back to the home fans who have put up with mediocre performances at Suncorp Stadium whilst the team have been successful on the road.

“It’s very important,” Farina said. “Not only for the side and where we’re positioned on the ladder but I think for our supporters.

“We haven’t given them enough this year, it’s as simple as that.

“Following on from a good win against Perth we need to have another one.”

Queensland gets Michael Zullo back from illness along with Chris Grossman who has been on fire in the national youth league whilst Newcastle have four big ins with Kaz Patafta promoted, Jin-Hyung Song back from injury and star striker Joel Griffiths and key defender Mark Milligan who are both returning from suspension.
