A-League club North Queensland Fury is set to receive help from Queensland Nickel according to a recent report in the Townsville Bulletin.
The Fury needs about $500,000 to reach the $1.5million required to keep the team afloat and get them out from under the guidance of Football Federation Australia.
QNI general manager Trefor Flood confirmed that the refinery management company will hold talks with the club regarding some more financial help in January.
"We're always looking at plans. We've got a meeting in January where we'll talk about where we go in the future," Flood said.
"The relationship Rabieh (Fury CEO Krayem) and I have at the moment, we've been able to keep moving things along in keeping our support in there. We'll see again after that meeting in January where that goes.
"It could be investment, could be help, could be anything," he added.
"We'll always be there supporting, we're part of the community and so are the Fury."
