Queensland Nickel's (QN) corporate logo will once again be emblazoned across the front of Gold Coast United's home and away playing strips after the Queensland-based company signed up to continue their major sponsorship of the club.
QN, who operate the Yabulu refinery north of Townsville and employ around 1000 Queenslanders, are a significant supporter of sport across the state, providing vital backing to many sporting organisations and schools.
Their involvement with Gold Coast United kicked off last season with the company also sponsoring North Queensland Fury as their allegiance to football grew.
Gold Coast United CEO, Clive Mensink, said Queensland Nickel's continued attachment to Gold Coast United was further confirmation of the organisation's commitment to supporting the development of football on a local and national level.
"Queensland Nickel are a great supporter of football and we are delighted that our relationship will proceed into next season and beyond," Mr Mensink said.
"They have proven to be fantastic, proactive sponsors who have supported the club and the sport on many levels. Their continued allegiance to us is a great indicator of the faith they have in the Hyundai A-League and the future of the code here in Australia.
"The ongoing support of a major international organisation is great news for football," he said.
Queensland Nickel's Chief Operating Officer, Neil Meadows, said his company saw both value and benefit in furthering their relationship with the club and the code, as well as supporting the career paths of United's group of talented youngsters.
"QN understands that sport brings people and business together. The world game of football is a vehicle to enhance our brand, cultivate business relationships and enhance long term customer friendships," Mr Meadows said.
"QN's growth plans and appetite to grow our business internationally are closely aligned to the growth aspirations of Gold Coast United.
