QPR won't pay "silly money" for Tottenham's Routledge

Queens Park Rangers chairman Gianni Paladini has insisted The R's will not pay over the odds for Tottenham winger Wayne Routledge.

The Loftus Road outfit are flush with cash following the takeover by Flavio Briatore, Bernie Ecclestone and Lakshmi Mittal and have already been active players in the January transfer window.

The winger seems surplus to requirements at White Hart Lane, but Paladini claims they will not be held to ransom over the 22-year-old.

"Wayne would do well here but although we now have solid finances, nobody is going to pay silly money," Paladini is quoted as saying in the News of the World.
