QPR will avoid drop says Cisse

QPR will certainly avoid relegation this season according to new striker Djibril Cisse.

The Frenchman marked his arrival at the club with the opening goal in last night’s 2-2 draw at Aston Villa and is confident that the 16th-placed R’s will remain in the top flight as they have a squad capable of picking up points.

"I have absolutely no doubt that we can stay in the Premier League," the 30-year old told BBC Sport. "I don't want to hear that word [relegation].

"We are a new team in the Premier League so it's understandable that we make a few mistakes sometimes, but to get a point is a good performance."
