Former Chelsea youngster Jacob Mellis has impressed on his first few days on trial with QPR, prompting manager Mark Hughes to call for an extension.
The 21-year old was released by the Blues in March after setting off a smoke bomb at the clubs training ground and is now looking to win a contract with the R's who are keen to take a closer look at him.
"It is a little bit difficult to really get to see him because we are preparing for really important Premier League games, but we will try and keep him for a couple of weeks.
"We'll see what he has to offer and take it from there.""We have had the boy in for a couple of days," said Hughes.
