Queens Park Rangers want to bring Steve McClaren back to Loftus Road in order to help manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, according to reports from The Sun.
QPR have endured a difficult start to their Championship campaign so far and Hasselbaink certainly seems to have found the second tier of English football difficult following his move from Burton Albion last season.
As a result, owner Tony Fernandes is reportedly keen on providing assistance to Hasselbaink and is now looking at the possibility of a homecoming of sorts for former England boss McClaren to work in a senior position alongside the Hoops' manager.
The former Middlesbrough, FC Twente, VfL Wolfsburg, Nottingham Forest and Derby County manager, who was sacked by Newcastle United in March, spent time at QPR as a coach under Harry Redknapp from July 2013.
