QPR veteran Shaun Derry can't critics have doubted the quality of Manchester United's midfield this season.

The 34-year-old, a midfielder himself, says age has no impact on a player's ability - and he should know - having spent much of his career in the lower leagues before finding his best form with the top-flight Hoops this term.

"It makes me laugh that people have criticised the United midfield at times this season," Derry told United Review. "People have questioned their age, but with age comes unbelievable amounts of experience. Any manager in the league would take on two or three players from United's engine room if they could - definitely, no question."
