QPR striker Helguson hopes Warnock keeps word over new contract

QPR striker Heidar Helguson is hoping manager Neil Warnock keeps his word over a new deal.

The 33-year-old Iceland striker, who had spells at Fulham and Watford, scored 13 goals in R's title-winning season but has not yet been offered a new deal.

Warnock said in March: "I've already said to Heidar we'll give him a contract.

"He knows I'll look after him. He's got a part to play next season."

However, Helguson said: "As of now, I don't have a contract. I am hopeful of signing one but there will always be rumours at QPR about players and managers."
