QPR striker DJ Campbell retains England ambitions.
Campbell is now a regular Premier League performer with QPR, the club he supported in his youth, and the frontman is eager to make the step up to international level.
"I felt that I was really close to earning a call-up for the international side last year at Blackpool and if I can emulate and even better that this time round then hopefully it will be my time," he told skysports.com.
"It would be great for me as a person because every player wants to play for their country, so I'd be over the moon if that was to happen.
"I will always keep striving to become an international player, so hopefully my performances on the pitch can do that."
