QPR striker Cisse: No grudge against Liverpool - though I didn't want to leave

QPR striker Djibril Cisse insists tonight's clash with Liverpool won't be about revenge.

Cisse was dumped by then Reds boss Rafael Benitez in 2006 despite having helped the club win both the Champions League and FA Cup.

The 30-year-old insisted he bore no malice towards his former side, yet told QPR's official website: "It's a special club for me but, for an hour and a half, there is no mercy.

"When the whistle blows, that feeling will disappear."

He added of his Anfield exile: "It was difficult to leave because it wasn't my decision.

"Rafael Benitez told me, 'You're not in my plans', so I had to leave. I was really sad because I did well in the short time that I played.

"But that's the way it was and I have to accept it."
