QPR striker Bothroyd unconcerned over lack of goals

QPR striker Jay Bothroyd isn't bothered by his lack of goals.

Bothroyd claims he is holding up the ball to bring his team-mates into play and admits it is a role that he is still getting used to.

He told the club's official website: "I am the target man and I am the platform so I've got to hold the ball up and start our attacks.

"It's not a position I have really played in so I have to adapt my game.

"Being in the Premier League, you have to change your style. If you look at Bobby Zamora when he went to Fulham, he needed a bit of time to settle in, and even Edin Dzeko at Manchester City needed time to get used to the Premier League.

"It's all about learning in each game and in each training session, and that's what I'm doing.

"I am enjoying it. I haven't scored yet, but that's not getting me down.

"As long as my performances are good and the manager keeps complimenting what I'm doing, and my peers do as well, then that's all I can ask for and I will always keep going."
