QPR striker Austin has point to prove to Hull

QPR striker Charlie Austin admits he has a point to prove to Hull City.

Austin was all set to join Hull a year ago only for the Tigers to pull out of the deal.

Austin still remembers the hurt he felt after his transfer to Hull broke down and it has made him even more determined to ensure Rangers' Premier League campaign gets off to a good start at Loftus Road.

He told the London Evening Standard: "It was difficult [when the Hull deal was called off], I have to be honest. But the week after, Sean Dyche and all the Burnley lads were brilliant with me. I had a good friendship with all the staff and players and they helped me through it. They allowed me to have a good pre-season with them and put me on the right road so that when I came to QPR, I had a good start here.

"After one more season in the Championship with QPR, luckily enough we put in the hard work and got promoted. I'm delighted to be a QPR player. We're in the top League and no matter who we play against, that's the most-important thing. I'm looking forward to it [playing in the top flight]. It's been quite a journey to get here . Hopefully, I can do well. It's time to show the Premier League what I've got."
