QPR striker Austin emerges as priority as West Ham deal with Valencia absence

West Ham United have renewed their interest in QPR striker Charlie Austin, following news that Enner Valencia could be out until Christmas.

It is understood Valencia could face up to four months on the sidelines after injuring his knee in West Ham's Europa League clash with Astra Giurgiu last Thursday.

The Mirror is reporting the loss of Valencia may force the Hammers to go back into the market and up their bid for Austin, who QPR have valued at £15million.

Austin has also been the subject of interest from Newcastle United, Leicester City, Southampton and Crystal Palace, but it is understood his preference is to stay in London.
