QPR captain Joey Barton apologised to fans for his stray pass which led to Michael Carrick's wonder goal yesterday.
Carrick sealed Manchester United's 2-0 win with a superb individual effort.
Barton tweeted: "You've got to be on it against reigning champions and today we feel short. Wasn't for lack of effort. Roll on Sunderland wed night.....
"Second goal was my mistake. It happens. Its gone. Time to move forward again.
"Don't worry, I can take my share of stick. So all the haters enjoy today. Ill be back next week to make u eat ur words. Its what I do best!
"Have a wonderful night, enjoy the rest of todays sport. Whilst I go home, sit in a darkened room and go over that bad pass 80 times in tears". (SIC)
