QPR skipper Joey Barton has slammed the FA for hurting the development of Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson.
Barton feels Henderson has been treated shabbily since last season's debut against France.
He told Absolute Radio: "Don't forget, the FA did that against France and they brought in Henderson and a number of other young players, and France out-footballed them, and they panicked and reverted back to what they knew. So, I mean, Henderson's not been near an England squad since, so it ruined his confidence.
"They never came in and said 'Alright, look, we're going to budge you in, we're going to give you 15 games', you know, 'Relax and feel your way in and gain experience'. We never done that, we put him in because there was a climate for change. It never worked out and we panicked and pulled them out after one match."
