QPR skipper Joey Barton admits he doesn't want to be ignored by England coach Fabio Capello.
Barton knows he won't make Capello's squad for Friday's final Euro 2012 qualifier against Montenegro - despite playing some of the best football of his career.
He said: "I saw the article in which (Capello) said I was too dangerous to play for England because I get too many cards and that kind of thing.
"I didn't totally agree with it of course.
"But a couple of weeks later I pulled Gervinho up. So I go and confirm it for him.
"England have had some good results and if the team was picked on form, I'd have been picked 18 months ago. It's obvious that it's not.
"My job is to do what I'm paid to do by QPR and continue to do that. It's well documented I'd love to play for England."
