QPR signing Luke Young says Fabio Capello's man-management style has put him off playing for England.
He rejected Capello's plea to return to the international fold nine months later after first-choice right back Glen Johnson withdrew from the squad to play Brazil in a friendly in Qatar.
Young, 32, said: "If I was treated or man-managed better, would I have stayed with England? Yes, possibly.
"I felt I was making up the numbers so I made a decision to stand down from it and let another young kid have a go.
"It's the pinnacle of your career but I just felt a little disheartened that I wasn't really being taken seriously."
