QPR set sights on Tottenham's Dawson, Real Madrid's Carvalho

QPR are still keen to bring Michael Dawson to the club from London rivals Tottenham.

The 28-year old centre-back has been linked with a £10million move to Loftus Road following Jan Vertonghen's arrival at White Hart Lane from Ajax and it is thought that the R's are still trying to complete the transfer.

Today, the West Londoners sold Matthew Connolly to Cardiff City which is believed to have freed up a potential season-long loan move for Real Madrid's Ricardo Carvalho.

The 34-year old Portuguese central defender left Chelsea for Madrid in August 2010 but has fallen out of favour with Jose Mourinho and is believed to be looking for regular game time elsewhere.
