QPR's Taarabt will not be dropped despite being caught smoking

QPR manager Mark Hughes has not dropped Adel Taarabt from the squad for this weekend's clash with Manchester United even though pictures have emerged of him smoking.

The Moroccan playmaker has again landed in the headlines for the wrong reasons after a photo was seen of he and Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh smoking a shisha pipe but Hughes says he will not take any action.

"I saw the picture," said the R's boss.

"If you're a professional athlete, you shouldn't really smoke but a lot of players do.

"I think what Adel was doing with his friends was a social activity and that is how he relaxes.

"As with everything in life, if it is done in moderation then it shouldn't have an impact on you.

"But he is a professional athlete so, from my point of view, I wouldn't encourage it."
