QPR's Nelsen, West Ham's Reid in doubt for NZ

New Zealand defenders Ryan Nelsen and Winston Reid are both in danger of missing upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Tahiti.

The All Whites head to Pirae for Friday's clash before hosting the Tahitians in Christchurch on October 16 but could be without QPR's Nelsen and West Ham United's Reid.

"We've been aware of the injuries since the weekend, and unfortunately they have prevented the players from travelling," New Zealand Football High Performance Director Fred de Jong said.

"We will continue to liaise with the players and medical staff at their respective clubs to give them the best possible chance of playing for the All Whites."

NZ skipper Nelsen is having a knee injury assessed by the R's medical team following a knock he received last weekend against West Bromwich Albion whilst Reid was hindered by back spasms in the Hammers' loss to Arsenal.
