Stephane Mbia insists he is not responsible for posting on Twitter a proposed move back to Marseille.

The 26-year old Cameroonian midfielders Twitter account suggested that he was willing to trade places with Joey Barton who is currently on a season-long loan with Marseille from QPR.

Mbia, who joined the R’s from the French club in August last year, sent a public message to Barton which read:

But Mbia made it clear to the West London club that he was not the man accountable for what was posted on his Twitter page.

"I do not know how this happened. Someone must have got hold of my login and password because I did not write these things,” he told The Guardian.

"This was not me. I did not write the tweets, and I have made people at the club aware of that.

"I saw the messages this morning and spoke with the club about them, but now I see there are more appearing in my name."
