Kenny Miller is enjoying the fact there is plenty of competition for spots in the Scotland squad, especially in the striker positions.
The Cardiff City man and his Scotland teammates are preparing for a friendly with Cyprus in Larnaca on Friday and he has spoken about the new options Craig Levein has at his disposal and how they are beginning to work extremely hard for a starting spot for their national team.
"People say I work hard. I think Craig (Mackail-Smith) works harder," said Miller. "He always comes away when he has wee niggles and wee knocks and he gets these because the amount of effort he puts into games is nothing short of ridiculous.
"You always want to come into internationals in decent form so if you're doing that then the manager's going to play you - great. And if not then it's a case of trying to get back in that team.
"There is a lot of competition for places - that's Jamie Mackie back as well and we've got David Goodwillie."
