QPR's Hughes hopes Wilshere does not make Arsenal comeback tomorrow

QPR manager Mark Hughes admits he would like to see Jack Wilshere back in action for Arsenal as long as it is not tomorrow.

The R's make the short trip to the Emirates Stadium to take on the Gunners with Wilshere a chance of returning to the Premier League fold after close to 18 months out with injury.

Hughes is well aware of the threat Wilshere possesses and although he wishes him well in his recovery, he hopes he does not have to deal with him this weekend.

"He's an outstanding young player, I think the league's been a lesser league [without him]," said Hughes.

"I think everyone missed watching his talents. Ideally, I would have hoped that he [was] one week away from a return but it seems that he played midweek [for Arsenal's Under-21s] with a view to being involved, so we'll see.

"He's a young man that seemed to have the world at his feet but he's had a real setback.

"We wish him well but not too many good wishes if he plays at the weekend." p> Click here to reach the No1 destination for hard news and exciting gossip on Arsenal
