QPR's Barton: Newcastle owner Ashley will appoint someone 'he can control'

Joey Barton has put forward his thoughts on who he believes will be appointed as Newcastle United manager.

The Toon are set to lose Alan Pardew to Crystal Palace with the clubs reportedly in advanced talks over a move which will see the Selhurst Park vacancy filled by a former key player.

Former Magpies midfielder Barton, currently with QPR, posted his views on Twitter that he feels the move may be a negative one for the St James' Park club but did not stop short on suggesting who owner Mike Ashley will bring in.
